For the report on this game, you could just look at last weeks report and change the name of the goal scorer. Apart from that, a few personnel changes and the fact that Colinthians wear a deeper blue kit than Penncroft, the game was a carbon copy.
Steve Rich was welcomed back from a long term injury and Nik Wooldridge and Simon Hardle both returned after being unavailable last week.
Wulfs controlled from the start and produced some fluid football that led to five good chances being spurned in the first half. Steve Rich was the first culprit when his free header flew inches wide of the post.
Jon Hart was the next to suffer after some industrious work from the midfield terrier ended with a spectacular scissor kick flying straight at the keeper.
Nik Wooldridge was the next to get his radar wrong when he sent a header high, wide and handsome while both Bert Burton and Steve Rich missed presentable chances with just the keeper to beat.
After a half time team talk that was word for word identical to last weeks, Wulfs finally took the lead seven minutes into the second half. Steve Rich retrieved a ball out wide on the left and danced past a player before cutting across goal for Tony Morrison to stroke home with his trusty left foot.
Simon Hardle had the perfect opportunity to make the game comfortable but his attempted lob went so far into the air that the Cols keeper went home for his tea before getting back to his line to save with ease.
Remarkably Colinthians, who had failed to register a single attempt at goal all game, managed to strike fear into the Wulfs defence by pushing their centre half up front for the final couple of minutes. Fortunately the eight man Wulfs defence managed to cope with him without any real scares.
I was right Tipo!!!
Final score: Old Wulfrunians 1 Colinthians 0.
