With the threat of relegation hanging over their heads, the second XI produced one of their best performances of the season to beat fourth placed Woodbourne Sports 3-1, and in all honesty it could have been more.
In the second minute a fine move released Chris Moore down the right and he put in an excellent cross for Luke Oliver to volley home.
Fortune the shone for Wulfs when a Woodbourne header from a free kick hit the bar.
However, Wulfs were dictating the play and when the referee played a good advantage, Jamie Perkins went through one-on-one and curled a fine finish into the net.
Martin Dalton then hit the post but it was soon 3-0 when Jamie Perkins went through again and squared the ball to Brendon Turner who side footed home.
Woodbourne came out strongly in the second half and soon pulled a goal back as a cross looped over Tristan Stephens and in to the far corner.
However, after this Wulfs soaked up the pressure well and should have increased their lead on the break as several chances went begging. Chris Moore, Jamie Perkins , Nick Richards and Luke Oliver should really have done better.
It was the three points that mattered though and survival is very much still on!
Final score: Woodbourne Sports 1 Old Wulfrunians 3.
