The third XI A first half with some excellent football by Wulfs as the pitch was holding up ok and the ball was being kept on the floor.
Wulfs took the lead with a goal after half an hour after a good cross field ball from Danny Patrick allowed Ashley 'Minty' Postance to volley home.
The second half was more of a battle after the rain caused the pitch to turn into something Shrek would have felt more at home in.
Village got back into the game with two goals after Postance had slotted home his second.
Extra time could have seen Wulfs win but a replay beckons.
7 - Paul Bartle. Untroubled for most of the game and not a fault for either goal.
7 - Phil Gardner. Won everything in the air. Caught out by bad bounce for the first goal.
7 - Gary Griffiths. Tackled very well. Needs to stay after training to practice on taking free kicks.
7 - James Sutton. Steady, could look to pass from the back more.
8 - Danny Patrick. A quality cross for the first goal. Caused problems when attacking. Defending?
8 - James Lawton. An unsung hero in the middle. The white Claude Makalele. He broke down an attack and passed to Danny to cross for the first goal. The goal post is still shacking from first half shot.
9 - Ashley Postance. Two goals for Minty. Chest down and volley for the first. Rounded the keeper and slotted home for the second.
8 - Paul Fothergill. Showed his class. Everything to feet. Unfortunate call up by David O'Leary to replace waste of money Eric Djemba meant he left the Memorial Ground for Villa Park after 60 minutes.
7 - Pav Kosla. Good performance for the second week running. Needs to get on the score sheet.
6 - Bhupesh Patel. Not much happened regarding scoring chances but closed down defenders well and always picks up the second ball.
7 - Gareth Lawton. Not the best canvas for Vincent Van Lawton to paint a masterpiece on. Tended to go into midfield to look for the ball. How many times will defenders fall for the fake back heel?
7 - Matt Gould. Fine midfield showing for last thirty minutes and extra time. Cleared out of the six yard box to stop a certain goal!!!!!!!!!!!
6 - Adam Campbell. Replacement for Bhupesh. One on one forced keeper into a good save.
6 - Simon Stewart. Caused problems by running at defenders.
Final score: Old Wulfrunians 2 Village 'D' 2.
