University Barbarians v Old Wulfrunians

The third XI travelled to champions elect University Barbarians knowing that if they came away with a defeat, their opponents would be celebrating winning the league title.

After playing the same opposition off the park the previous Saturday at The Memorial Ground, and starting like a bunch of raving lunatics, Wulfs took control of the game from the start.

They went two - nil up inside fifteen minutes.  Paull Fothergill was the first on the score sheet after some nice link up play and two bites at the cherry.

Matt Gould was next to notch after running the length of the pitch to get on the end of a loose ball.

The barbs half time team talk must of been something special as they came out for the second half on a mission.  They must have realised that they were playing for promotion.

Two set piece goals and two from open play put paid to any thoughts Wulfs had of ruining their big day.

OWFC man of the match Paul Fothergill.

Final score: University Barbarians 4  Old Wulfrunians 2.
